Two 5Ks — the Purple Stride 5K walk/run and the Race for Hope 5K —will close D.C. streets this weekend. The closures will begin Friday evening and end midday Sunday, and will be concentrated in the downtown area. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Twitter feed for traffic is the best place for up-to-date information about closures, but below are the anticipated street closures and parking restrictions for the events.

Between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29 and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, the following streets will be posted as emergency no parking and closed to traffic, per D.C. police:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from 12^th Street to 14^th Street NW
• 13^th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, the following streets will be closed:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from 12^th Street to 9^th Street NW
• 12^th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW
• 11^th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW
• 10^th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW

And the following streets will be emergency no parking between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Saturday, and closed to traffic between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from 9^th Street to 3^rd Street NW
• 9^th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW
• 7^th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW
• 6^th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW
• 4^th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Madison Drive NW
• 3^rd Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to E Street SW
• 6^th Street from Independence Avenue to D Street SW
• Independence Avenue from 7^th to 3^rd Streets SW
• 4^th Street from E Street to Independence Avenue SW

On Sunday, May 1 from about 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and posted as emergency no parking, according to D.C. police:

• 13th Street between E Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW
• Pennsylvania Avenue between 9th Street and 14th Street NW
• 12th Street between E Street and Constitution Avenue NW
• 11th Street between E Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW
• 10th Street between E Street and Constitution Avenue NW

And the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and posted as emergency no parking between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday:

• 3rd Street between Constitution Avenue NW and D Street SW
• Independence Avenue between 3rd Street and 7th Street SW
• Constitution Avenue between 3rd Street and 7th Street NW
• Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd Street and 9th Street NW
• 4th Street between Independence Avenue and D Street SW
