ART IN BLOOM: View artworks, furnishings, and architecture reimagined as floral sculptures at the American Revolution Institute’s headquarters at the Anderson House. Over two dozen local floral designers created displays that will be featured in this three-day event, including a Tuesday reception with the artists and bites, drinks, and a sneak peek of the garden. ART PANEL: Dive into ARTECHOUSE’s latest installation, Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies, at this cultural art panel featuring the artists Vince Fraser and Ursula Rucker. ARABIC LITERATURE: The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center hosts a talk about Al-Hariri’s Maqamat, a collection of stories from the 12th century about a vagabond trickster. BUSINESS OVER BRAND: The Business Over Brand Summit hosts an author talk featuring Dr. Vikki Johnson of Soul Wealth; Chip Py, author of DC Go-Go: Ten Years Backstage; Briana Thomas, author of Black Broadway in Washington, D.C.; and Kate Jenkins of Arcadia Publishing. The in-person author talk is part of the hybrid Business Over Brand summit from the District’s Creative Affairs office that runs June 13-17 and focuses on “creativity, entrepreneurship and moving beyond the hustle,” according to the program.
