Interruptions in Blue/Silver line service may cause delays, so prepare for extra travel time.

With Juneteenth and Father’s Day weekend drawing you to the city for celebration, continued Metro construction may be something to keep in mind while planning your trip. Here’s what to look out for this weekend.

First, the Blue and Silver Line are still experiencing interruptions between Benning Road and Stadium Armory after bridge construction last weekend. Free shuttle buses should be available and additional travel time should be factored into your trips.

As a reminder, Orange Line platform construction continues with the closure of New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Ave stations through Sept 5. The Orange Line also still has limited service only operating between Vienna and Federal Center SW, at which point riders can transfer to the Blue or Silver lines. Not Metroing? Don’t forget there are also street closures downtown for Something in the Water this weekend.

Red Line

  • Regular service, trains every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont with additional trains between Shady Grove and Takoma

Orange Line

  • Regular service, every 20 minutes, between Vienna and Federal Center SW
  • New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, Minnesota Ave & Stadium-Armory stations will be closed.
  • Local shuttle every 15-20 minutes, stopping at New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, Minnesota Ave & Stadium-Armory .
  • Express shuttle No. 1 every 10-15 minutes with limited stops: New Carrollton, Landover & Stadium-Armory
  • Express shuttle No. 2 every 10-15 minutes with limited stops: Deanwood, Minnesota Ave & Stadium-Armory.

Silver Line

  • Regular service intervals, trains every 20 minutes, between Wiehle-Reston and Stadium Armory.
  • No Silver Line service between Benning Road and Largo Town Center due to bridge work.
  • Shuttle buses replace trains between Stadium Armory and Benning Road.

Blue Line

  • Regular service intervals, trains every 20 minutes, between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium Armory. Trains every 18 minutes between Benning Road and Largo Town Center.
  • No train service between Stadium Armory and Benning Road due to bridge work.
  • Shuttle buses replace trains between Stadium Armory and Benning Road. 

Green and Yellow Line

  • Regular service, trains every 15 minutes
