DIVERSITY AWARENESS: Join the National Postal Museum for a virtual program all about the history of disability representation on postage stamps. The kid-friendly event will feature guest artist Rafael Lopez and guest author/justice Sonia Sotomayor to discuss their own experiences with disabilities. (Virtual; 4 p.m.; FREE)

FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL: Continue to explore this year’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall, back on its sixth day before taking a few-day break. Kick off the day with events like a Bedouin cooking demonstration and falcon and falconer meet-and-greet at 11 a.m. Enjoy other events, concerts, screenings, and demonstrations throughout the day, like honey tasting, DIY paper orchid crafting, a hand-blended fragrance workshop, and a coffee narrative session. CLIMATE WORKSHOP: To celebrate the closing of “Fragile Beauty,” the first juried art exhibition initiated by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, head to the Commission gallery for an interactive climate pledge workshop. Artist Monica Jahan Bose will lead an outdoor discussion of strategies for climate action and craft climate pledges on a hand-woven cotton sari in solidarity with women farmers of coastal Bangladesh. Find the truck serving plant-based chicken and bacon sandwiches parked in Market Square and learn about how you can help the planet by reducing animal product consumption. SAFARI NIGHT: Learn about Botswana’s culture, economy, and tourism industry at a safari night at the Embassy of Botswana.
