Expect longer wait times if you are taking Metrorail this weekend. That’s in part because Metro will be using Saturday and Sunday for track maintenance.

It’s a good idea for Metro to check and repair the tracks, particularly after a recent report that uncovered wheel and track problems the date back to just before 2015.

Here’s what riders should expect this Saturday and Sunday, according to Metro:

Red Line

  • Trains run every 12 minutes due to single tracking between Judiciary Square and Union Station.

Blue Line

  • Trains run every 15 minutes because of major construction.
  • The following stations are closed: Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn St., King St – Old Town, and Braddock Rd stations. Free shuttle buses will be provided.
  • Pentagon Station will be closed due to a security drill on Saturday between opening and 2 p.m.

Orange Line

  • Trains run every 15 minutes.

Silver Line

  • Trains run every 15 minutes.

Yellow Line

Green Line

  • Trains run every 8 to 16 minutes until noon because of single tracking between Greenbelt and College Park. Then the line will run every 8 minutes.
