Expect servicing to most Metro lines this week.

With yesterday’s elections, it’s already been a bit of a busy week in the D.C. region. You can expect the same from the Metro operations, as many of the lines will undergo servicing during regular scheduling.

In a showing that the universe can be both merciful and harsh, the Red Line trains will continue to run every 10 minutes — more often than in past weeks — while also not offering any services to Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont. Meanwhile, both the Orange and Silver lines will see single tracking between Ballston and East Falls Church. And for the foreseeable future — or rather, until the spring of 2023 — the Yellow Line will be closed.

Here’s more from Metro:

Red Line

  • Trains every 10 minutes between Shady Grove and Fort Totten.
  • Due to switch replacement: No train service between Fort Totten and Glenmont. Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont closed. Free shuttle buses provided.

Orange Line

  • Train runs every 16 minutes.
  • Single tracking between Ballston and East Falls Church due to rail replacement.

Silver Line

  • Train runs every 16 minutes.
  • Single tracking between Ballston and East Falls Church due to rail replacement.

Green Line

  • Train runs every 8 minutes between Greenbelt and Navy Yard, and every 16 minutes between Navy Yard and Branch Ave.
  • Due to radio cable installation: Single tracking between Anacostia and Southern Ave. Trains operate in two segments – Greenbelt to Navy Yard and Greenbelt to Branch Ave. Customers traveling to Branch Ave should board Branch Ave marked trains, or transfer to Branch Ave at Navy Yard.

Yellow Line

  • The Yellow Line is closed until spring 2023.
  • Due to the Yellow Line tunnel and rehabilitation project: Yellow Line trains will be served by the Blue or Green lines instead. Blue Plus service will operate between Huntington and New Carrollton. Additional Green Line service will operate between Branch Ave and Greenbelt.

Blue Line

  • Normal Blue Line service every 16 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Downtown Largo.
  • Blue Plus train service every 16 minutes between Huntington and New Carrollton.
