If you’re planning to take the Metro this weekend, you might want to leave the house a bit earlier or push your plans a bit later in the day.
Every line has some form of maintenance happening, bumping wait times upwards of 24 minutes on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines. Station closures on the Red Line and single tracking on the the Green Line are also in the books.
Here’s more from Metro for this weekend:
Red Line
- Trains will run every 10 minutes.
- Due to radio cable installation, North Bethesda (FKA White Flint) and Grosvenor-Strathmore stations are closed. Trains will operate between Shady Grove and Twinbrook, and Medical Center and Glenmont.
- Free shuttle busses will be provided.
Blue Line
- Trains will run every 24 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Downtown Largo.
- Trains will single track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory, due to aerial structure repairs.
- Blue Plus trains will run every 24 minutes between Huntington and Reagan National Airport only.
Orange Line
- Trains will run every 24 minutes.
- Trains will single track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory.
Silver Line
- Trains will run every 24 minutes.
- Due to aerial structure repairs, trains will only operate between Ashburn and Ballston. Riders should transfer to or from the Orange Line to continue the trip.
Yellow Line
- The Yellow Line remains closed through May 2023. Riders should take the Blue or Green line instead.
- Due to aerial structure repairs, Blue Plus service will only run between Huntington and Reagan National Airport. Additional Green Line trains will run between Branch Ave and Greenbelt.
Green Line
- Trains will run every eight minutes between Branch Ave and Georgia Ave, and every 16 minutes between Georgia Ave and Greenbelt.
- Trains will single track between Fort Totten and Hyattsville Crossing, due to rail and fastener renewal.
