Metro may have avoided one service reduction earlier this week, but maintenace work will slow down trains this weekend.
Single tracking on the Red and Blue lines will push wait times up toward 18 minutes, and trains on the newly expanded Silver Line will also be operating every 18 minutes.
Here’s more from Metro as you head out this weekend:
Red Line
- Due to single tracking between Dupont Circle and Van Ness, trains will operate between Dupont Circle and Glenmont every 9 minutes, with every other train continuing to Shady Grove.
- Trains will run every 18 minutes only between Dupont Circle and Shady Grove.
- Riders traveling to stations between Dupont Circle and Shady Grove should get on a Shady Grove bound train, or transfer at Dupont.
Blue Line
- Due to single tracking between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road, trains will run every 18 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Downtown Largo.
- On the Blue Line Plus, trains will run every 18 minutes between Huntington and New Carrollton.
Orange Line
- Trains will run every 18 minutes.
Silver Line
- Due to cable installation at Stadium-Armory, trains will only operate every 18 minutes between Ashburn and Stadium-Armory.
- Riders going to or coming from stations between Stadium-Armory and Downtown Largo should transfer at Stadium-Armory.
Yellow Line
- The Yellow Line remains closed until May. Riders should use the Blue Line Plus or Green Line instead.
Green Line
- Trains will run every eight minutes.
