826DC, ‘Museum of Unnatural History’ To Open Saturday

For those of you who have been eagerly anticipating the chance to purchase your very own Confused Wood and Existentially Distraught Wood (from the makers of Petrified Wood) and Unicorn Tears while helping some kids learn: clear out some time this Saturday. 826DC — and its Museum of Unnatural History, which serves as a way for the organization to raise funds for its writing workshops, field trips and tutoring services — officially throws open its doors at 3233 14th Street NW this Saturday at noon for a community open house.

826 To Open D.C. Branch In Columbia Heights

As someone who benefited immensely from numerous people encouraging me to write as a young man, I will shamelessly plug this: 826 — author Dave Eggers’ youth writing program — will finally be opening a D.C. branch at 3233 14th Street NW in Columbia Heights this fall, and are looking for volunteers for writing workshops and drop-in tutoring sessions.
