Albert Haynesworth Gets Cut
Ian R. Rapoport, who covers the New England Patriots for the Boston Herald, reports this afternoon that the team has parted ways with troubled former Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
Those hoping for a protracted legal drama involving former Redskins defensive tackle Albert Hayensworth, prepare to be disappointed: Haynesworth pled no contest today to a charge of simple assault, and was sentenced to 160 hours of community service.
Just because he’s been shuttled off to New England doesn’t mean that we’re rid of Albert Haynesworth — oh no, not by a long shot.

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth didn’t appear in court this morning. But no worries, Haynesworth’s lawyer, former Council candidate and White House party crasher counsel A. Scott Bolden, certainly did a fine job of maintaining that his client — accused of rubbing “his fingers in circles around [a W Hotel waitress’] left nipple” after she said no on February 13 — was a victim.
Yesterday, Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was indicted on sexual abuse charges in connection with an incident which occurred on February 13 at the W Hotel. Haynesworth allegedly caressed a waitress’ breast during the incident; the court documents, though, show that the encounter was far more involved than simply a wealthy sports player getting a little too handy with the wait staff.
NBCWashington.com has gotten their hands on a D.C. Superior Court subpoena and the police report detailing a woman’s allegations that Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth sexually assaulted her.
