Alexandria Lawmakers Unanimously Vote To Eliminate Single-Family-Only Zoning, In Bid To Boost Housing Supply
The vote is part of a wider package of zoning proposals dubbed “Zoning For Housing,” aimed at expanding the city’s housing supply.
The center’s more than 160 artists are eager for answers that could come out of a City Council meeting in December.
Some residents are trying to insert more ambitious zoning reforms into the city’s Zoning for Housing package. Others say the reforms could have a negative impact on housing.
Alexandria city planners project that the proposal might only add up to about 178 units of additional housing over the next decade.
