Good morning, Washington. Pigskin season has arrived. Tomorrow is the first football Sunday of the year and the Redskins’ season-opener. It’s the start of six months of chicken wing rituals as we plunge into the thrilling agony of fantasy football, and it’s a good time to start planning where you’ll watch the games. Seriously, the Gumball Machine?
Looting a beloved restaurant is bad enough; looting one that’s just been gutted by a fire is even worse. But that’s exactly what happened to the Argonaut over the Independence Day weekend. Benefit, Outpouring of Support for the Argonaut

The restaurant received dozens upon dozens of messages of support via Twitter and email, which they’ve reproduced on the website. Fire on H Street NE
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a call early this morning about a fire on H Street Northeast. According to Fire & EMS spokesman Pete Piringer, fire personnel were still on the scene dealing with what he called a “heavy fire” as of 7:00 a.m. this morning. The fire, which erupted at a carryout place, damaged a favorite neighborhood restaurant, the Argonaut. The fire damaged Argonaut’s kitchen, @ArgonautDC tweets, and put people out…
