Scare Force One and Cherry Blossom Bombshells Face Off in Roller Derby Championship Bout
Scare Force One and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells face off Saturday at the Armory to bring home the Skate of the Union and the right to call themselves the top team in D.C. roller derby.
In a hard-hitting and physical bout, the DC All-Stars (#11 E via WFTDA) took down Suburbia Suburban Brawl (#12 E via WFTDA) 247-137.
The DC Rollergirls All-Stars avenged two recent losses to the Maine Port Authorities with a convincing win over the higher-ranked Portland team, while the DC DemonCats remained winless thanks to the Majority Whips.
The DC All-Stars (ranked No. 11 in the East) faced off against the Queen City Roller Girls of Buffalo, New York (No. 15) before home teams Scare Force One and Cherry Blossom Bombshells took to the track.

Nearly 2,500 fans enjoyed another action-packed display at the Armory Saturday afternoon as the DC Rollergirls‘ home teams played out the fourth round of the season.
Four teams, two bouts, screaming fans galore and roller derby action of the highest order. This was the high-spirited third round of the DC Rollergirls‘ sixth season last Saturday at the Armory.
The DC Rollergirls‘ sixth season kicked off at the Armory on Saturday, with Mayor Vincent Gray blowing the first whistle to get the wheels rolling on a thrilling afternoon of derby, which included the debut of DCRG’s newest team, the Majority Whips.

Scare Force One Has Landed…As Season Five Champs
The fifth DC Rollergirls‘ season has come to an end — and what a finale it was. The two teams that had split the first four seasons’ titles gave the crowd a thriller of a Championship bout before Scare Force One finally pulled away in the last few minutes to the delight of their boisterous fans.
It had been a long time coming. The D.C. Rollergirls All-Stars, who had slipped to #11 in the East in the latest rankings, snapped a frustratingly long home losing streak with a decisive 106-64 victory over Providence Roller Derby’s Rhode Island Riveters (#10), improving D.C.’s hopes of making this year’s WFTDA East Region Playoffs.
