We linked to the news in this morning’s roundup, but just ran across these photos of the crash posted by Frozen Tropics. “Amazingly, no injuries have been reported,” the blogger writes of the scene she captured in the 1100 block of Montello Avenue NE late last night. Council Passes Auto Snow Removal Bill, But No Fine
D.C. Wire’s Nikita Stewart reports from the D.C. Council’s legislative session that the Council has unanimously approved emergency legislation to require drivers to remove frozen snow and ice from their vehicles. However the bill, introduced by Ward 5’s Harry Thomas Jr., was amended to eliminate a $50 fine, instead opting to have police issue drivers a warning. Pedestrian Struck on Connecticut Ave.
View Larger Map There’s some early reports that a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle on Connecticut Ave. NW near Nebraska Ave. NBC4 says that Connecticut is currently closed between Nebraska and Fessenden, and that the car was a white Dodge Neon. Police radio reports indicate the victim died before EMS reached the scene. We’ll update when we know more. UPDATE: More from NBC4, who confirms that the elderly man who was struck died…

Hulk Smash So Many Cars in Columbia Heights
Our own Andrew Wiseman last night happened upon what was no doubt the beginning of a really terrible morning for several Columbia Heights residents. On 13th Street NW between Clifton and Fairmont, a row of five or more parked cars were smashed up by another car crashing into them.
