Feds Searching For D.C. Bank Robber
The man who robbed two Wells Fargo bank branches in the span of eight days is still at-large, and federal authorities are asking the public for help.
Samuel Lewis was arrested at his Beltsville home by Montgomery County Police on Friday, and subsequently charged with seven bank robberies around the county — though, police note, he is suspected of having committed several others in Arlington and Alexandria.
Due to a public uproar over the allegedly passive review of documents leading to residents being evicted from foreclosed homes, Bank of America has announced that it will temporarily halt all foreclosure proceedings and sales nationwide, reports the Washington Post. In a statement, the bank said that they “will stop foreclosure sales” until an internal investigation is completed. “Our ongoing assessment shows the basis for foreclosure decisions are accurate. We continue to serve the interests of our customers, investors and communities. Providing solutions for distressed homeowners remains our primary focus,” said the statement.

Chevy Chase Bank Signage to Disappear by Fall
Capital One purchased D.C. area-based Chevy Chase Bank back at the beginning of 2009, and now the Post reports that the transition to the Capital One brand will be completed sometime this fall.
