The Smithsonian is still doing research to determine the provenance of 26 other bronzes in its collections, including those at the Natural History Museum.

The Smithsonian has agreed to return its full collection of Benin Kingdom Court Style artifacts to Nigeria, their location before the 1897 British raid on Benin City.
