Big Bird, and Many of His Muppet Friends, Descend on Washington to Support Public Broadcasting
Big Bird and plenty of his muppet friends descended on Washington today for the Million Muppet March, where they sang the praises of public broadcasting and jeered Mitt Romney’s plan to defund it.
Puppets can’t vote (well, they can’t really do much at all without human fists up their backsides) but they will be descending on Washington a few days before the November 6 presidential election.
Mitt Romney’s strong performance in his first debate with President Obama last week has helped him gain ground in Virginia, where both presidential campaigns continue to saturate the airwaves with ads and stump speeches.
After Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he’d cut funding for PBS, the network came to its own defense with a strongly worded rebuke.
