The Vision Zero Omnibus bill has been in the works for 16 months and aims to implement more than a dozen ideas to help reach D.C.’s goal of eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2024.

The sweeping plan would nearly double the miles of trails in the D.C. region.

Advocates held a rally on Friday to demand safer streets, both from traffic crashes and gun violence.

It was installed to honor cyclist Dave Salovesh, after he was killed at the intersection of 12th Street and Florida Avenue NE.

Many safe street advocates say they are tired of waiting and want to see immediate change.

There are reports of an issue with forceful brakes.

No one has been ticketed for it yet.

Starting on Monday, commuters will be able to wheel them on at any time.

The city could have as many as 16 different scooter and e-bike fleets on the road next year.
