D.C. is Drinking Economy Dry, Says CDC
D.C had the highest per-person cost of excessive drinking in the country.
A recent survey released by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration found that nearly a quarter of Americans admitted to binge drinking and 8.4 percent have used an illicit drug in the past month. CBS spun the data into a list of the “Booziest states in America,” with D.C. ranking third. Evidently CBS overlooked the fact that D.C. is not a state.
