The weekend couldn’t have been better for the city’s roving photographers—the temperatures were warm, the skies blue and the cherry blossoms in bloom.
When the National Park Service announced the peak bloom period for the city’s famed cherry blossoms two weeks ago, it probably didn’t expect that we’d have a week’s worth of May-like temperatures. But that’s exactly what we’re getting, and as such, the peak bloom has been moved up.

Cherry Blossoms’ Peak Bloom Set For March 24-31
The National Park Service announced today that the District’s famed cherry blossoms will reach peak bloom between March 24-31, corresponding almost perfectly with the centennial edition of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
