Atlas wants to reward locals with free beer at its own locations when they purchase pints and six-packs at other bars or retail shops.

“It’s been a crazy two weeks,” says one brewery owner. “It feels like two years.”

The veterans-inspired brewery and bar has four new brews, one named for each branch of the military.

A new website built by locals allows anyone to donate a beer from Atlas Brew Works or DC Brau.

“Everyone’s very mutually supportive of everyone else. For being such a small area, it’s kind of a cool feeling, a cool culture that we’re developing there.”

The annual SAVOR beer week bring’s some of the nation’s best breweries together in D.C. for a full-on beer blowout.

A law that went into effect yesterday will enable market goers to buy bottles of D.C.-made beer, wine, and spirits along with their arugula.
