Marion Barry Censured By D.C. Council
Although Barry tried to avoid censure, he later seemed resigned to it. “I’m ready to get this behind me,” he said. “I’m ready to get this behind the Council.”
At a press briefing before the D.C. Council’s meeting tomorrow, Council Chairman Phil Mendelson said that he’ll urge the rest of the council to censure Marion Barry.

Marion Barry has finally been forced to face some consequences for some of the many misdeeds he’s been accused of over the last 30 years. The D.C. Council has voted to censure Barry (D-Ward 8) and refer possible public corruption charges against him to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
