Neither rain, nor fire, nor government shutdown can stop the Cherry Blossom Parade from moving on. The caravan of floats was briefly brought to a halt earlier today when one of the towing vehicles caught on fire near the intersection of 12th Street and Constitution Avenue. The parade was stopped for 15-20 minutes while D.C. Fire and EMS extinguished the fire and removed the car. Thanks to a DCist tipster for this photo of a couple jolly firemen, taken along the parade route.
