And the Japanese-inspired Cherry Blast is shutting down two blocks of K Street NW.

Neither rain, nor fire, nor government shutdown can stop the Cherry Blossom Parade from moving on. The caravan of floats was briefly brought to a halt earlier today when one of the towing vehicles caught on fire near the intersection of 12th Street and Constitution Avenue. The parade was stopped for 15-20 minutes while D.C. Fire and EMS extinguished the fire and removed the car.
