Two Other Baby Animals Born at the National Zoo
Mehgan Murphy/Smithsonian’s National Zoo In our frenzy to celebrate the birth of another fuzzy-wuzzy clouded leopard cub, we failed to report that two other baby animals were also born at the National Zoo in the last few days. First, the Zoo’s female Przewalski’s horse, Brandy, recently gave birth to a foal and has been observed successfully nursing. The cubs, who sadly won’t be on display at the Zoo, were born two weeks ago at the Zoo’s Conservation and Research Center in Front Royal, Va. We have just three words for you: Partially….

National Zoo Video of Clouded Leopard Cub
There’s pretty much only one word to describe this new video from the National Zoo of one of its day-old clouded leopard cubs feeding from a bottle: Squeeeeee!…
Photos courtesy National Zoo Two clouded leopard cubs were born at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo’s Conservation & Research Center in Front Royal, Va. today, taking an immediate, commanding lead in the baby animal birth cute-off that’s been going on for the past couple of months (see the elephant shrew saga, the giant anteater and the close second for Top Cute, the baby gorilla, for the entire story). Two-and-a-half year-old clouded leopard “Jao Chu” (JOW-chew)…
