The Loudoun County School Board has approved moving ahead with collective bargaining rights for licensed classroom teachers and other school employees.

The school board for Virginia’s largest school system voted late last night to grant 28,000 employees the right to collectively bargain.

Workers and their employer reached a deal that guarantees wage increases for nearly everyone in the union. The deal was negotiated in under a year, less time than most contracts typically take.
