Coming back from a weeklong trip to China, Mayor Vince Gray returned home over the weekend to find that like tens of thousands of other D.C. residents, he, too, lost power during last Friday’s thunderous derecho storm.

A law passed by the Virginia House of Delegates this week that would grant the same rights to a fertilized egg as to a person is provoking both silly and serious concerns over its unintended consequences.

As we wrote yesterday, there’s really not much that the D.C. Council can do about Councilmember Harry Thomas, Jr. (D-Ward 5). A meeting between councilmembers only further proved that point.
