In today’s Kwame Brown roundup: maybe he wasn’t so Bullet Proof after all, the Post jumps on board with Phil Mendelson, no Control Board is on the way, and the chorus of D.C. voting rights deniers have started up again.

Just Look At What Jack Evans Started
During today’s Council debate over Vince Gray’s gap closing measures, Councilmember Jack Evans busted out some newspaper clippings from 1995 and invoked the wicked Control Board monster. Evans’ point was that tax increases would lead the District on a road to financial ruin much like the one that the city experienced in the mid-’90s, but really, all it did was spawn a hilarious (well, at least to local government nerds) meme on Twitter. Mike DeBonis deserves credit for getting the ball rolling — but feel free to add your own #controlboard joke to the fray. Really, blaming the Control Board works for just about anything! (For example, I’m blaming the #controlboard for all those socks I seem to misplace while doing laundry.)
