Monumental Sports is asking the District for $600 million in taxpayer dollars to renovate the sports arena.

Councilmembers Brooke Pinto and Charles Allen both offer different versions of the same idea — incentivizing District residents to leave their cars at home and cruise around on e-bikes.

The legislation comes as an alternative to a widely criticized bill introduced by Mayor Bowser and Council Chairman Mendelson last week.

The bill also requires D.C. Public Schools to implement a menstrual health curriculum for all students starting in the fourth grade.
