Marc Elrich was the presumed winner of the county executive primary, but now 102 provisional ballots could turn the tide on his win.

The abortion access fund is part of a plan to make Montgomery County a haven for people in need of abortion, be they Marylanders or out-of-state residents.

The vast majority of county residents who testified at a public hearing Tuesday before the Council said they opposed the mandate.

The county will vote on $1.4 million for 83 managerial employees in the departments of fire and rescue, police, and sheriff’s office who filed grievances.

Before the threshold is reached, masks will be required in public indoor spaces only after the county experiences seven consecutive days of “substantial” COVID-19 transmission.

The bill requires county employees to get vaccinated, apply for a medical exemption, or lose their jobs.

“I feel like people need to understand this place is not designed for us to live out of,” one woman said.

Gayles has accepted another job elsewhere, though the details of his new role are still unknown.

In a 7-2 vote, Montgomery County will allow the installation of 5G towers in some residential neighborhoods.
