Grease Fire Breaks Out At Ireland’s Four Courts
It really hasn’t been a good week for area restaurants when it comes to suffering serious damage. First, the group of restaurants inside Washington Harbour probably won’t be able to open for the Easter holiday weekend because “whoever was supposed to raise the flood panels, which are operated by hydraulics, did not do it correctly.” And today, a “significant” grease fire broke out at the Ireland’s Four Courts at 2051 Wilson Boulevard in Courthouse.

Reader, Meet Author
[Note: Last week, the comma that normally follows the word “Reader” in the title was inadvertently left off. Anyone who really feels strongly about that is invited to attend June Casagrande’s signing at the Wilson Boulevard Olsson’s in Court House this Wednesday at 7 p.m. She wrote a book about you, so eat your shoots and leaves and attend. 2111 Wilson.] MONDAY The Folger Shakespeare Library hosts Pulitzer prize-winning poet Charles Simic as he reads…

Fourteen protesters found their way inside the headquarters, located in a non-descript office building at 2107 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington’s Court House area. Seven others chained themselves to the doors of the building. Twenty-one in all were arrested for trespassing. For more on the Bush-Cheney not-so-secret below-the-radar headquarters,…

Keri Strug’s Armoire for Sale
Are you in need of an armoire with “numerous shelves and two large cabinets for storage.” Can you move it? (Its big.) Then you should contact an Olympic gymnast-turned-Treasury Department civil servant. Keri Strug, whose gold medal performance was the triumph of the 1996 Atlanta games, is moving out of the Meridian Court House Commons in Arlington and needs to sell her furniture. But there is one feature that may make the $150 price worth…
