Council to Consider Ban on Employer Credit Checks
Here’s an intriguing idea currently before the D.C. Council, courtesy Ward 1’s Jim Graham. Proposed legislation could potentially ban city employers from using a job applicant’s credit history as a factor in hiring decisions, the Examiner reports. The bill provides for a few important exceptions, such as top positions with financial institutions.
