D.C. United took some time out of its busy schedule to lend a helping hand at D.C. Central Kitchen yesterday afternoon, and we thought we’d take a moment to share their good deed with you.
We love Carla Hall. (We’re a sucker for the “hootie hoo,” what can we say.) We also love the D.C. Central Kitchen. (We’re also a sucker for charities that aren’t afraid to stand up to bullies.) So it’s a good day when the two join forces: according to the charity’s blog, Hall has joined the Central Kitchen’s board of directors.

D.C. Central Kitchen Vans Vandalized
The D.C. Central Kitchen had several of its vans vandalized last night, and, understandably, many people were flabbergasted. Why would anyone want to vandalize vehicles belonging to a group whose wide-ranging missions include job training, feeding the less fortunate and supporting better nutrition among children?

Roti Mediterranean: Free Lunches for Donations
The old saw is true that “there’s no such thing as a free lunch.” But at least for today, the money you spend can go to a good cause. As part of their opening festivities, Roti Mediterranean Grill (1747 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) is giving away free lunches, but requesting donations be made to D.C. Central Kitchen.
