Breaking the Law to Publish the Law: Open Government Advocate Digitizes Entirety of D.C. Code
D.C.’s many laws govern what the public can and cannot do, but those very laws don’t exist in the public domain. One open government advocate changed that.
If someone were to approach you and offer to sell you a barrel of corn, it would be perfectly legal according to a D.C. law dating back to 1899 that remains on the books today.
