Photos: D-Day, The Invasion Of Normandy

On June 6, 1944, Allied forces stormed the beaches at Normandy, a pivotal moment in cracking the Nazis’ power in Europe. There were about 156,000 troops: 73,000 Americans and 83,115 British and Canadian, with most arriving from the English Channel.
