The way that Initiative 71 has been enacted may actually render the city less likely to be targeted under the Trump administration.

“It’s one of those things that brings people together,” says DCMJ co-founder Nik Schiller. The group estimates they gave away more than 8,000 joints.

“D.C. has spoken when it comes to marijuana policy and its our obligation as the city’s elected leaders to carry out the will of the people.”
