Sign Up for DMV Email Notifications

Today Mayor Fenty and DMV Director Lucinda Babers announced the launch of a new email notification service that reminds D.C. residents to renew their driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations online. To sign up for the service, visit the D.C. DMV web site, go to “Online Services”, and then click “Add/Update E-mail Address”. You’ll need to enter your driver’s license number, full name, SSN and DOB, and then activate your account via an email confirmation….

Changes to Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration Fees

Via the Post’s Get There blog, the D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles has put in place a number of new regulations starting today. The fees to renew a D.C. driver’s license or identification card has gone up from $39 to $44. That’s not too big of a hike, and the good news is that those licenses will now be valid for eight years, instead of only five. That works out to $5.50 per year versus…
