Disability Rights DC says staff members should have been able to prevent a patient’s murder in March.

This is the second report Disability Rights DC issued on the hospital in just over a year.

Disability rights advocates say there is no law in the District mandating hospitals to allow support persons for those with disabilities.

“Widely used, abusive restraints and seclusions are far from respectful or dignified treatment,” reads the report from Disability Rights DC.
