Big news out of the Capitol on Friday, where ducklings have successfully mastered the ramp installed earlier this week at the Reflecting Pool.

All of the birds were recovered and waddled away with their mom.

When perusing the DCist Flickr pool, I couldn’t help but get caught up in the adorableness of these blonde ducklings that philliefan99 caught testing out the waters with their mom. I felt it my duty to share these squee-worthy ducklings with you, dear DCist readers.

Thanks to frequent Flickr contributor philliefan99 for dropping this heart-tugging video into our pool. These ducklings look they are just too little to hop over those big fountain steps in Pershing Park. All of them except for one, anyway. Spring in D.C. really brings an abundance of cute. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for these little guys!…
