The folks over at Dulles Metro extension are breaking out the construction tools … and the credit cards. $900 million of the $2.83 billion price tag of the initial 11.6-mile leg is in that Transportation Department spending bill tied up in Congress and under threat of veto by President Bush. Transit on Thursday: Ups and Downs Edition
Perusing the Metro news this week, another poll suggesting that Northern Virginians might want to just cut themselves off from the rest of the state got us all excited. But we got a little bummed when we found out that Virginia’s Great Tunnel Debate would end up pushing back the timeline of the Dulles Metro extension quite a bit. Morning Roundup: Rainy Day Monday Edition
In the 70’s, Karen Carpenter sang that “Rainy Days and Mondays” always got her down. Well, this would chart as a real downer, as today combines the two.
