Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros @ 9:30 Club

It’s fair to say that Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros brought a few things to the 9:30 Club on Tuesday night that few would have expected. Pianist Aaron Embry kicked off the sold-out show by admitting that no one had a clue as to the whereabouts of vocalist Jade Castrinos. Frontman Alex Ebert rounded out the night, but only after making his way into the pit and inviting about 800 of his newest friends to have a seat on the floor with him for the second song of the encore. Embry did give fair warning from the get-go: they’re just a bunch of hippies.
