Dacha Beer Garden Is Expanding To 14th Street
This comes after Dacha announced it leased space near Nationals Park.
The performing arts center announced today that it has raised an additional $40 million for a project that would add 60,000 square feet of rehearsal space, classroom space and multipurpose rooms, as well as gardens and an an outdoor video wall for simulcast performances.
The National Gallery of Art’s modern art collections will close later this year when the museum begins an extensive, three-year renovation expected to cost more than $68 million.
Get ready for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to increase its already hulking position on shores of the Potomac River.

Arlington County Has Gone Batty for Bikeshare
Arlington County is going on a Capital Bikeshare binge, planning on doubling the number of stations it has by next summer.
Capital Bikeshare published its proposed locations for next year’s planned expansion in Arlington. In 2013, Arlington officials would like to see Bikeshare extend into sections like Long Branch Creek, Fairlington and Columbia Heights.

Arlington Approves Capital Bikeshare Expansion

The plan, approved by The Arlington County Board, calls for 30 new stations and 190 bikes at the cost of $1.2 million in federal grant funds. During yesterday’s one-year birthday party for Capital Bikeshare, Terry Bellamy, the director of the D.C. Department of Transportation, had big news — 50 more stations and 500 more bikes will be added to the system in early 2012.
