UPDATE (5:15 p.m.): James J. Lee, who has been holding hostages since early this afternoon at the Discovery Communications headquarters building, was shot at about 4:48 p.m. Lee is in police custody but his condition is unknown at this time. Lee was described by Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger as having a “wide range of emotions” during the negotiations.
