‘I’ve Got To Paint Fast!’: Local Residents Watch As Capitol Fence Razor Wire Comes Down
Capitol Police say with no “credible threat,” the fence is no longer warranted.
The fencing around St. John’s Episcopal Church was first erected last June, following former president Donald Trump’s infamous photo-op at the church.
“There are many state-of-the-art options that wouldn’t needlessly wall off the Capitol complex like a fortress.”
But D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said she would not accept extra troops or permanent fencing “as a long-term fixture” in the city.
