Some 20 miles outside of D.C. sits a haunting reminder of the District’s failed mental health policy: The abandoned ruins of Forest Haven Asylum.

WJLA is reporting that investigators have found what they think may be human remains on the grounds of the infamous Forest Haven, the former D.C. facility for mentally retarded adults that was shuttered after a series of lawsuits in the early 1990s.
