The city is reopening the bidding process for the effort to redevelop the 40-year-old government building on 14th Street, which will eventually be home to the NAACP’s national headquarters.

The city says it will prioritize proposals that honor the legacies of late D.C. mayor Marion Barry Jr. and civil rights activist Frank Reeves.

The organization plans to relocate to the Reeves Center.

District officials and D.C. United are scheduled to announce today a tentative plan that would result in the city’s 17-year-old professional soccer franchise finally having a stadium it can call its own.
