One of two suspects wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting earlier this week that injured 13 people has been arrested.
The latest Washingtonian adventure in animal rights protests by PETA — which, over the last several months, have included showing “baby elephants [being] gouged with steel-tipped bullhooks” at the Verizon Center, giving away a vasectomy and blasting farts along Pennsylvania Avenue — will hit D.C. today. And frankly, it seems more cruel to the people conducting it than anything else.

PETA protests the Nutcracker
PETA doesn’t actually take offense to the depiction of rats as the bad guy in the classic ballet, but rather the ballet-goers sartorial choices. PETA has been protesting the Washington Ballet’s production the past few days, targeting the audience members who chose to wear fur.
