Go Home Already: Please Don’t Freak Out
But this photo, taken in Old Town on Friday night by zenisfrisbee just before the final Harry Potter book was released, is too funny not to post. I honestly honestly honestly have no idea if this is true, I’m still reading The Half-Blood Prince, and I’m choosing to believe this guy is just trying to rile people up. For now, PLEASE DO NOT POST SPOILERS in the comments. I will remove them. That said,…

Mapping Crime in the District
Over the last few months, a number of people have found ways to plug the District’s criminal incident reports into online mapping programs, allowing us a visual snapshot of criminal activity from area to the next. First came incidentlog.com, followed closely thereafter by Post’s own crime map. Today our friends at Gallery Place Living tipped us off to a new crime map they’ve introduced, this one mixing weekly incident reports from Crimereports.com and the usual…

MCI Center Finally Says Goodbye
So we knew it was coming, but now it’s finally a reality. The MCI Center is no more — say hello to the Verizon Center. Our friends at Gallery Place Living stopped by yesterday to see that the change has now been made official, with the signage on the arena finally having been changed to reflect its new corporate sponsor. Of course, the Chinese lettering doesn’t seem to have changed as of yet, so bilingual…
