D.C.’s Sport Betting App (Sort Of) Goes Live
The app version of the online betting platform is set to be rolled out in the next month.
The debate over whether these new games are skill-based or rely on chance has challenged regulators and lawmakers.
The judge said the D.C. Council was within its legal right to grant a no-bid contract to a Greek gaming company to run the city’s lottery and develop a sports betting app.

In less than a week, two people have been arrested for leaving their kids in their car while gambling at Maryland Casino Live.
With Prince George’s County voters having endorsed the construction of a casino resort in a ballot referendum last year, the bids from casino operators are starting to come in.
In just a month and change, D.C. area residents with that gambling jones will no longer have to trek to West Virginia or Pennsylvania or New Jersey to get their blackjack and craps fix.
