Woman Found Dead In Northeast Gas Station Fire
It’s not clear how the fire started or how the woman sustained her injuries.
The gas station next to the Watergate Hotel re-opened for business this week, and not only does it have a new owner and new brand, it also has a new pricing model: The market rate.
On Saturday an SUV collided with a gas station pump in Bailey’s Crossroads, causing a large fire. A DCist Flickr contributor was on scene to capture some images.

Cheh Still Hopes to Dismantle Gas Station Monopoly
Despite having failed to get the necessary votes last year, Councilmember Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) still hopes to pass a bill that would effectively dismantle a gas station monopoly operating in the District.
More details are coming to light about the blaze which broke out at a gas station in Georgetown this morning. One person was injured in the fire, which started at the Washington Gas Station at 1576 Wisconsin Avenue NW around 8 a.m. this morning.
A car caught on fire at a gas station near the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Q Street NW this morning, leading to heavy smoke that was seen around the District. The fire, the cause of which is still unknown, has been mostly contained by the D.C. Fire Department, but not before it spread to a neighboring structure and some debris behind the station.

Woman Robbed As She Pumped Gas In Takoma Park
A surreal crime story from just across the District line this morning: a woman was pumping gas at a station on the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 7:20 a.m., when a car pulled up next to her. A person then exited the rear of the vehicle, walked up to the front of the woman’s car, unlocked the door and grabbed a bunch of her property before hopping back into the vehicle and speeding…
