DCist Goes to the Opera
Last Saturday, Washington National Opera opened its new production of George Gershwin’s classic American opera Porgy and Bess (1935), and this DCist was happy to be in the Kennedy Center Opera House for the performance Wednesday night. Classical Music Agenda
October has been a busy month for classical fans in Washington, and it just keeps getting better. We still have one more week before the Washington National Opera and the National Symphony Orchestra return from their breaks. Both groups are busy, of course: WNO is preparing their final fall production, the much anticipated new production of Porgy and Bess, and the NSO has been on a tour of California and Nevada.
